Sara Gilbert ("Emily") is best known for her role as the
wisecracking and lovable Darlene Conner Healy in the hit series Roseanne, which
brought her two Emmy nominations, numerous other awards and worldwide recognition
during the show's nine years on ABC.
Gilbert recently completed filming in Chicago on the feature film High Fidelity
opposite John Cusack. She will next be seen starring opposite Forrest Whitaker in the Fox
2000 film Light It Up. She will also be seen starring in The Big Tease
for Warner Bros. Pictures. ln addition, Sara will create, produce and direct Even the
Losers for MTV Productions and ABC, about a 15 year old Woody Allen type who is
shipped off to boarding school.
As a graduate of Yale University, Gilbert made her directorial debut with the
critically acclaimed short film Persona Non Grata which was in competition at the
1998 Sundance Film Festival.
A versatile film, television and stage actor, Gilbert recently starred in such projects
as Desert Blue opposite Christina Ricci, Poison Ivy opposite Drew
Barryrnore, and Sudie and Simpson opposite Lou Gosset Jr. She recently starred in
the CBS pilot The Next Big Thing for CBS-TV.
